Punk meets Glamour. This 2,550 sqft former factory site located on one of the hippest streets in Kreuzberg was turned into a loft for work and leisure with an extraordinary attention to detail. The centerpiece of this magnificent loft is doubtlessly the over 1,000 sqft kitchen and living area which is perfectly suitable for all kinds of meetings, presentations and workshops. The three bedrooms with an en suite bathroom each are separated and spread out between east and west wing. The interior is state of the art ranging from design furniture to top notch kitchen appliances including steamer, wine fridge and fitted coffee maker to technical equipment such as a projector with a large rectractable screen and a Sonos sound system.

The interior design was realized by Kreuzberg based Thomas Hillig Architekten. The objective was to retain the distinctive large open volume as either a venue event space or as a living /working areas there while only partitioning the sleeping areas in the adjacent side-wings of the building.

Inspired by New York’s first lofts when converting the space, Hillig developed a loft atmosphere by combining the fireplace, the wooden floorboards, curtains and warm colours with solutions normally associated with industrial spaces, such as the electrical installation in simple suspended cable trays.

Hillig Architeken hand-picked the furnishings, choosing all of the objects – even those usually considered to be of minor importance.
