Description of Incredible house-boat in Australia

Melbourne based interior design firm, Pipkorn & Kilpatrick, have literally launched (sorry) themselves into the design scene with their first client commission – a house boat on Victoria’s Lake Eildon.

Business partners and friends, Anna Pipkorn and Jane Kilpatrick took the bold step of starting their own firm after having worked for years together at both Bates Smart and Shareen Joel Design in Melbourne. They did not predict, however, that their first commission would involve re-designing the entire interior of a three level, 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom and 2 galley kitchen houseboat to be used and enjoyed by three generations of one family.

With a design approach that is innovative, clean in style, and modern yet timeless in appeal, Pipkorn and Kilpatrick pay careful consideration to both detail and sustainability as much as they do to their clients lifestyle. Here, natural materials have been used throughout out the Eildon houseboat that tick the checklist of both sustainability and adding texture.

With an interior scheme that is calm and light filled, allowing the passing scenery of Eildon and its surrounds to take centre stage, we would love to hear what Daryl Kerrigan from The Castle would have to say if he saw this beautiful creature float past his holiday cabin!
